Britney Spears to star as Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix

Producers of the next Harry Potter film "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" have chosen pop star Britney Spears for the role of trainee wizard Luna Lovegood from among the thousands of teenage girls who auditioned for the role.

In the book, Luna is described as being an unusual character who is considered somewhat of an outsider by her classmates.

With her wand tucked behind her ear for safekeeping and a necklace of corks, the 14-year-old wizard often appears somewhat detached from what is going on around her.

Britney Spears will join cast members Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry; Emma Watson, who is Hermione Granger; and Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the film.

Cops find 54 persons trying to get into US through secret California-Mexico tunnel

U.S. border patrol agents investigating a caved-in road discovered a tunnel linking the United States and Mexico, the third such passage found in three years near the San Ysidro, California, crossing, and found 54 Mexicans cramped inside hoping to cross the border without permits, authorities said Wednesday.

Neil Tunn, an official for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, said agents found the 35-foot long, 3-foot-by-3-foot tunnel on Monday and further investigation led to the discovery of the 54 persons, who were all sweating and grasping for air.

"Clearly the tunnel was used for people who want to cross the border and to the US without papers," Tunn, whose full name if read family name first sounded like tunnel, said.

The tunnel -- which Tunn described as "primitive" -- surfaced in U.S. territory in a strip of land between the border fence and a public parking lot. It's just west of the San Ysidro port of entry into the United States, one of the busiest land border posts in the world, he said.

Google buys Microsoft for $500 billion

The fierce rivalry and dispute between the two Internet and computer giants have finally been settled after Google officials yesterday confirmed it has bought Microsoft for a sizzling $500 billion cash.

"We are happy with the buy out," said a Google spokesman in an exclusive telephone interview.

"We are just worried at how we can deliver the $500 billion cash to Microsoft," said the spokesman adding that the delivery of the money in cash was stipulated in the buy-out agreement.

The spokesman said Google and Microsoft had reached a mutual agreement and had agreed not to disclose specific terms, other than the fact that Bill Gates has strongly ordered the money to be delivered in cash and in $20 bills.

Osama Bin Laden arrested in Afghanistan

The United States officially confirmed yesterday that al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden was arrested in a clandestine cave more than eight months after the Saddam regim was toppled.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Osama is finally arrested," a US official told a press conference. "He will be presented to the media shortly," the official said.

Sources said that Bin Laden was captured at 8:30 p.m. (1730 GMT) in a cellar in afghanistan, ending one of the most intense manhunts in history.

The US forces did not show video of captured Osama, who was wearing a beard, as usual, and undergoing a medical examination. Bin Laden is "in good health" and without injuries, a US spokesman told reporters, and he was "asking for a bigmac for breakfast".

Bin Laden was being held at an undisclosed location and that US authorities had not yet determined whether to hand him over to the Afghans for trial, or bring him to the US to audition for the next season of Big Brother.

Forces from the 4th Infantry Division along with Special Forces captured Bin Laden, the US military said. There were no shots fired or injuries in the raid, called "Operation Osanamagun," said sources.

In Afghanistan, Afghans celebrated the capture of the al-Qaeda leader with gunfire, killing 200 persons accidentaly. #
